Port Blair, Sep 21: The Lt Governor, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has sanctioned an amount Rs 3 lakhs as compensation to Smt Bahamuni Tuti, R/o Macarthy Valley, Kadamtala, North & Middle Andaman for the loss of life of her husband, late Anand Kumar, who was killed due to an elephant attack on 2nd February 2016.
The issue of compensation was brought to the notice of the Hon’ble Lt Governor during his visit to Baratang by Smt Bahamuni Tuti, wife of late Anand Kumar. The Lt Governor immediately ordered the concerned department to provide compensation to the victim’s family. The cheque in this regard has been handed over to Smt Bahamuni Tuti today.
