Port Blair, Sept 20: It is for the information of general public that A&N Administration has conveyed its Administrative approval for Prohibition, Manufacture, Storage, Distribution and Sale on all forms of processed/flavoured /scented chewing tobacco whether going by the name or form of Gutka, Pan Masala, Zarda, packed and unpacked/loose, tobacco leaf in any form etc. and also Pan Masala based sugar boiled confectionary in the interest of public health.
The procedural formalities for notification are under process. The blanket ban will be effect throughout the A&N Islands shortly.
