Port Blair, Sept 19: The fourth batch of five-day training programme on First Aid Fire fighting & Disaster Preparedness & Medical First Aid aimed at generating awareness among the general public, govt. employees, business establishments, hotels, school teachers, students etc got underway on Monday at the A & N Police Fire Service Training Centre at Fire Service (HQs) here.
In his address as the chief guest, the Superintendent of Police, Fire Service, A&N Islands, Mr Atmaram V. Deshpande spoke about fire prevention, safety aspects and to combat the situation of eventuality while in home, office, Hotel / Restaurants etc. Further, he urged the participants to learn and gain adequate knowledge during the 05 days training session which would help to build the capacity of individuals for responding to any emergency during the time it takes for Fire Services for reaching the scene of fire.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Fire Service), Mr B. Saigal briefed about the main components of the training programme and appealed them to complete the training in all respect and to gather adequate knowledge from the faculties of Police Fire Service Training Centre. Altogether, 48 persons from Govt. Institutions, Schools, Hotels and private establishments etc. are participating in the training programme.
