Diglipur, 15 Sep: A young man of 28 years died last night after being electrocuted by a power line in front of his home at Sardar tikry, Sitanagar.
As per details, after having his dinner last night, when Biplab Das heard some noises, he went out upto the main road to check.
Sadly he could not notice a high tension power line was fallen on the road. The HT power line snapped due to falling of a massive tree branch, close to his house.
As soon as he reached near the power line he suffered electrocution and he fell on the ground.
His wife who was standing near the house rushed for help but some relatives managed to stop her, smelling danger on the road.
Meanwhile someone informed the Fire Station and then Fire Service informed the Police and Electricity office.
After nearly 10 minutes the electricity people reached the spot and cut down the power line and sent Biplab Das to hospital in an auto.
The family people alleged that earlier twice complaints were given to Electricity JE of the area regarding hanging of High Tension wire in the area without any guarding wires, but no actions were taken in this regard by Electricity Department.
Due to failure of BSNL network, phone numbers 100, 101 and 102 are not working properly since three days in the region.
The hospital declared Biplab Das as ‘brought dead’. The post mortem of the body was carried out this morning.
Late Biplab Das married four years back and having an adopted son of aged about 3 years. He was working as a security guard in a firm.
With no source on any income the family is in a limbo now. The villagers are now demanding compensation and a permanent job for Late Biplab’s wife.
