Port Blair, Sept 11: In a shocking incident on Saturday a former part time lecturer of a government college of North Andaman, chopped off the left leg of his wife following an argument.
According to details the accused, Milan Halder, who used to work as a part time lecturer at Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder, North Andaman, on Saturday lost his cool after an argument with his wife and out of anger the accused took out a Machete and chopped off the left leg of his wife, Kadambini Biswas, a lawyer by profession.
Sources said that the accused also attacked on the right leg of his wife and caused major injuries.
Kadambini Biswas, a mother of two, also sustained major injuries on fingers of both the hands in the attack.
Nephew of Kadambini Biswas, a 17 year old, who was present on the spot, was also reportedly charged by the accused with Machete but he managed to escape and informed others.
Soon police team of PS Aberdeen under the leadership of SHO reached the spot and arrested the accused person. Taking prompt action the Police team which reached the spot first shifted the injured lady to the G B Pant Hospital.
The condition of Kadambani Biswas is said to be critical.
According to initial investigations the man used to doubt over the character of his wife, which triggered the argument yesterday afternoon and at around 2.00 PM he attacked his wife.
