Port Blair, Sept 9: With the objective to bridge the skill gap in the tourism sector to raise the quality of service and to open livelihood opportunities for local youth of the Islands, the Department of Tourism, A & N Administration jointly with Dr. B.R Ambedkar Institute & Technology (DBRAIT), Port Blair, will organize Hospitality certificate course in Food and Beverage Service and Accommodation operation (Fee: Rs 3000/-; Duration: 30 days (6 hours per day)) and Hospitality Certificate course in Food Production and Bakery (Fee: Rs 3000/; Duration: 30 days (6 hours per day)) at DBRAIT.
Interested candidates having minimum of 8th pass certificate in CBSE schooling system can apply for the course in the prescribed format given below on or before 20.09.2016. The last date for receipt of applications is Sept 20 before 5 pm, date of interview/selection of candidate by screening committee is Sept 21 at 10 am, last date for payment of fee is Sept 23 by 3 pm and the training course will commence on Sept 26.
As per the schedule, the batch of each course will have minimum 20 students. In case, if the selected candidates outflows the intake capacity they could be accommodated in the subsequent batches. Selected candidates will have to deposit course fee i.e. Rs.3000/- for each course in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of “Principal DBRAIT, Pahargaon, Port Blair” A certificate after successful completion of the course will be issued by DBRAIT.
