Port Blair, Aug 31: In order to reduce stress and to negative thoughts and to encourage the talents of inmates, a cultural programme was organized for the inmates by the inmates inside the District Jail, Prothrapur on 29.08.2016 to achieve the goal of Rehabilitation, Reformation and re-socialization of inmates. Smt Geeta Rani Verma, Inspector General (Prisons) was the chief guest of the programme. Speaking on the occasion Inspector General (Prisons) pointed out the importance of organizing such programme to engage inmates in a positive direction and to detach them from indulging in negative thoughts, it also encourages the we feeling and communal harmony amongst the inmates.
23 inmates participated in the programme under the direct supervision of Shri Mohd. Hanif, Jailor & Shri O. Mohd.
