Port Blair, Aug 18: The Socio-Cultural Organsation “CHETANA” organized its Annual function “CHALENGE SAATH SAATH” devoted to DIVYANG students of these islands on 16th August, 2016. The function marked with colourful cultural programme and honoring the academically best performing Divyang students in the AISSCE-2016 started at 4.30 PM in the Tagore Auditorium, Port Blair. Smti. Minati Biswas, Chairman, Zilla Parishad- South Andaman was the Chief Guest in the function. Whereas Shri. Indrapal Singh (Guddu), Councilor, Port Blair Municpal Council was the Guest of honour. The function was chaired by Swami Suddhanand Saraswati, Acharya- Chinmaya Mission- Port Blair.
At the outset, Dr. R. N. Rath, Convener, Chetana welcomed the gathering and highlighted the activities of Chetana organisation. He said that CHETANA has a vision of social reform and make the people aware of their duties against social evils. All the activities are focused on the vision. Dr. Rath informed the gathering that CHETANA has expanded its area of execution and activities are being organized outside Port Blair. He called upon the people to understand their responsibility towards society and work for its reforms. Talking about DIVYAG children, He said that they are competent enough to take their responsibility in all aspects of life, they only need a supporting hand to grow.
In her address, Smti. Minati Biswas, Chairman, Zilla Parishad- South Andaman hailed the job of CHETANA and appreciated the initiative especially for DIVYAN children. She said that being a public representative she serve the people. But working with CHETANA is like executing duties of responsible human been. She expressed willingness to join CHETANA and donated a sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) towards the expenses of the function.
Shri. Indrapal Singh (Guddu), Councilor, PBMC said that as per his knowledge, CHETANA is the only organisation in these islands working to encourage and appreciate the talent of DIVYANG children.
In his address Acharya- Chinmaya Mission, Swami Suddhanand Saraswati said that God has inhibited one or other special talent in each and every individual. So as to the DIVYAN children and people. We need to identify those abilities and explore them. Swamy Ji said that key to peaceful life and harmony is self-satisfaction. He called upon the CHETANA organisation to expand its area of coverage in respect of participation of DIVYANG children in the Annual function and give platform to DIVYAG children from outer islands through this function. Swami ji assured that entire expenses towards boarding and lodging of those children will be borne by Chinmaya Mission.
The group Dance presented by Deepak Tirkey (DIVYANG) and two others (Residents of Rangat) and Patriotic solo song by Fiza Khan (Divyang) made the audience to give standing ovation. Theme song of the Annual Event “Chalenge Saath-Saath” was sung by Shri. Rakesh Chander Lall & Group. Music to the entire cultural programme was composed and executed by Avinash & Group.
Top Four Divyang performers in the AISSCE-2016 viz. Mr. Sujit Roy, Mr. Shurai Panna, Mr,. N. Vijay Kumar and T. Jyothi were awarded with cash prize and appreciation certificate. Participation Certificate were given to all the participants of the cultural programme. The cultural programme was prepared and choreographed under the able guidance of Joint Secretary- Chetana, Smti. Rita Banerjee with the team members Smti. Renu Bala, Smti. K. Suma, Smti. Geeta Naveen Bhatt and Shri. Ashok Kumar Singh.
