Port Blair, July 25: The President, Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma has invited the attention of the Lt. Governor to the decision of the Central Government to enhance the superannuation age of Non- teaching and public Health specialists and General Duty Medical Officers sub cadre of Central Health Services (CHS) to 65 years with effect May 31, 2016. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is experiencing shortage of experienced doctors and use to hire such doctors from mainland. To retain the qualified experienced doctors for a longer period to provide quality health services to citizens, particularly the poor of these islands , the Lt. Governor should initiate steps to implement the decision in these islands, said Mr Sharma in a letter to the Lt. Governor.
