Port Blair, July 25: The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands has enhanced the age of superannuation of the General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) of Andaman & Nicobar Health Services Cadre to 65 years with immediate effect.
The decision to increase the age of retirement for doctors upto 65 years was announced by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in the month of May 2016.
This step of the Government will empower it to retain experienced doctors for longer period of time and strengthen the healthcare sector in the country. It will also help in providing additional doctors in the health pool of the country.
