Port Blair, May 05: A two day training Programme on Right to Information Act(RTI) will be held at Rajiv Gandhi Cooperative Training College at Teylerabad on 12th and 13th June. The programme is aimed at imparting necessary skills in handling RTI matters to the staff members of Cooperative organizations, Government Departments, Public sector units, Banks and other agencies.
The Principal of the College, S Suresh Babu informed that the necessary training is essential for the officials dealing with RTI matters to ensure timely response to the RTI applications, as envisaged in the RTI act, 2005. The two day training will broadly cover various aspects of RTI such as RTI appeals, latest decisions of Central Information Commissioner(CIC), maintenance of RTI records, filing of RTI annual returns etc. The eminent experts from the field will conduct this two day training.
The Principal requests the Government departments and other agencies to depute their staff members for this training to be held on 12th and 13th of next month. The trainees are required to make the payment of Rs.1500/- towards course fee which includes the cost of course materials , food and refreshments served during the training.
The college will also extend hostel facilities for the participants from inter islands at the nominal rate of Rs. 100/- per person per day. The nominations of the participants along with the necessary demand drafts for the requisite fee should reach the college latest by 7th June, 2012. (PIB)
