Port Blair, July 15: In a major feat, the A & N Islands Regional Centre of National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), surpassed the target set by the NABARD Headquarters (HQ) in the last financial year.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Hemant B Songadkar, General Manager, NABARD said that the record achievement was possible because of the hard work and dedication of his team of 12 employees who left no stone unturned last year.
“Be it financial inclusion, micro finance, refinance disbursement or financial literacy, NABARD, A & N Islands has surpassed all targets set by the head office. “It’s an history for the A & N Islands NABARD Office.
The devotion of the NABARD employees was also recognized by the Chairman NABARD, Mr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala who gifted three trophies, first prize for Business Initiative, 2nd for development Initiatives and second position for all over performance.”
During the 34th foundation day celebration, focus has laid on the projects initiated for the current financial year. Sustained efforts are being made to conduct more than 100 trainings programmes, revival of about 2000 SHGs and overall better its performance in the current fiscal, added Mr Songadkar
