Prompt action by PS Aberdeen Staffs

Port Blair, May 21: Sending strong signals to traffic rule violators, the staffs of PS Aberdeen today imposed challan on a group of youngsters, participating in a marriage procession, for causing obstruction to traffic and driving their vehicles dangerously.
According to eyewitnesses, the challan was imposed when a group of citizen informed the Police about open violation of traffic rules by some people in a marriage procession.
These people had reportedly blocked the road at Bengali Club Junction and were bursting crackers. There were many who were driving bikes dangerously without wearing helmet. When the information was passed to Police, the staffs of PS Aberdeen immediately swung into action and circled the marriage procession near Middle Point BJP office and imposed challan on 10 bike riders for ‘dangerous driving’. It has been learnt that the loud speakers have also been seized by Police.
Though the step have certainly soured the joy of marriage party but this kind of challan is needed, as for only a few people in marriage procession, entire city usually face great inconvenience. The A & N Police must continue such raids to keep roads of these Islands keep roads of these Islands safe.
