Port Blair, July 5: The scheme of fee exemption is applicable for students belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, enrolled for July 2016/January 2017 admission cycles under the SCSP and TSP components of plan grants in the Financial Year 2016-17 in compliance of guidelines issued by the MHRD, Govt. of India (GOI) for 6 UG Programmes. The Bachelor Degree Programmes – BA, B.Com., B.Sc., B.S.W, B.T.S., and B.C.A – student who seeks first year admission are eligible for the fee exemption. The exemption of fee is confined to Programme Fee only. The Scheme of fee exemption is introduced on pilot basis for July 2016 and January 2017 admission cycles only.
Eligible and interested students may apply on Proforma published at Annexure-V on page no. 179 given in the Common Prospectus 2016-17. The Regional Centre will verify documents of students applying for fee exemption. Details of the scheme are uploaded on www.ignou.ac.in. The Common Prospectus is available at IGNOU Regional Centre Port Blair, Kannada Sangha Building, Near Syndicate Bank, Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair. The last date of Admission for July 2016 session is 17th August 2016.
