Mayabunder, June 23: Under the leadership of Shri Arava Gopi Krishnan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, a team comprising of Shri R. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director (CS & CA), Mayabunder, Accounts Officers DC Officer, Civil supplies Inspector and other staffs of Civil Supplies Department and District Administration conducted a surprise Inspection in Vegetable and Fish market on 22/06/2016 to check the various Weight and Measurement Instrument/equipment using for sale of commodities and seized the weighing/measuring instruments which are not conforming to the standard under the law. The Deputy Commissioner also directed all the vendors to use only standard weight and measurement instruments for sale of commodities.
Later, the team visited the Indira Market, Mayabunder and the Deputy Commissioner requested the shopkeepers to pay special attentions towards cleanliness of the surroundings.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the General Public and heard their grievances and assured to make better.
