Port Blair, June 19: The Lt Governor, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), has condoled the death of Shri Shripad Deshpande, ex-Organizing Secretary BJP State Unit and leader of BJP Puducherry. Shri Deshpande, aged 53 years died yesterday night at Puducherry due to cardiac arrest.
The Lt Governor has conveyed his deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family. He has also spoken to the family and assured all support and assistance.
The Lt Governor has also requested Shri P Jawahar, DC (Puducherry) and Shri Theva Neethi Dhas, Secretary to LG (Puducherry), to provide every possible assistance to the family.
He has said that Shri Shripad Deshpande has always worked for the welfare of the people of the Islands and raised issues and problems relating to people and the Islands before the authorities.
