Port Blair, June 10: Our Rights Organization (ORO) has urged the Andaman and Nicobar Police to launch online complaint/FIR registration through websites and to facilitate the process same in all Police Stations of these islands for the benefit of the remote population. In a letter to the Inspector General of Police, ORO Chairman, Mr Saravanan said that many accidents in remote parts of these islands go unreported to the Police and launch of online complaint / FIR registration will benefit people as they will be able to register their complaints from any part of these islands. Moreover, such initiative by the Andaman and Nicobar Police will also reduce crime significantly in these islands.
