Port Blair, June 9: To facilitate the registration of FRP/OBM boats under IV Rules 2016, four days Modified Serang Course for OBM operators is being organized at Baratang by the Tourism Department in association with DBRAIT, A&N Police, Fire Department, and Health Department from June 8 to 11.
Altogether, 81 OBM operators have registered for the course. The main components of the course include Rules of Roads, Storm signal, Navigational mark, basics of First Aid, Lifesaving appliances, Firefighting appliances & Communication. The course will conclude on 11.06.2016.
Earlier, a similar Course was organized for OBM operators in Havelock Island, Port Blair and Neil Island. A similar training programme will be organized by Tourism Department at Diglipur w.e.f. 13th to 16th June, 2016 at Turtle Resort, Kalipur. The course fee is Rs. 1,000/- per candidate. All the OBM boat operators have been advised to reach at 8.30 am, at the respective place alongwith their two passport size photographs and copy of the Power Boat Handling Certificate, for participating in the course.
