Port Blair, June 09: On 31/05/2015, a case vide crime No. 32/16 under Sections 307/392 IPC was registered at PS Humfrigunj on the complaint of a lady R/o UP. Tikrey, Sippighat, recorded at GB Pant Hospital.
The case was registered on the statement of the victim for being assaulted upon with a rod type object over her head and even after repeated assaults she however managed to escape from there and reached to her home and later she was evacuated by her neighbour to PHC Garacharma from where she was referred to GB Pant Hospital.
She had sustained injuries on her head and on her left hand. During the course of enquiry she disclosed that she knows the person and can identify the person who attempted to murder her and also snatched her mobile phone.
Accordingly after sustained effort by the police the accused has been arrested by the South Andaman police on 05/06/2016 U/s 307/392 IPC and produced before the Hon’ble Court of CJM at Port Blair from where he has been sent to JC remand.
Rigorous efforts of A&N Police have resulted in working out this case of attempt to murder and it demonstrates the resolve of the police to tackle any crime against women with sensitivity.
