Port Blair, June 7: The Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Smt Minati Biswas visited the Loha Barack village area recently along with the Pradhan, Members and villagers of the constituency. During the visit, she observed that the final stages of construction work of a culvert over the nallah being executed by the APWD has been stalled after the Forest Department declared it as a Crocodile Sanctuary.
Due to the delay in completion of the slab work of the culvert, students of the Primary School and Aanganwadi Center of the area are facing hardships as they have to use a kutcha structure to cross the nallah. The Adhyaksha has taken up the matter with the Chief Engineer of APWD for early completion of the work for the benefit of the villagers.
