Port Blair, June 07: As part of Swachchha Bharat Pakhwada, A cleanliness drive was conducted in the MGMNP, Wandoor on 6.06.2016. In spite of bad weather condition, the PRI members, Panchayat Wandoor, local villagers, Youth clubs, crew members of Tourist boat operators, Staff and mazdoors of Wandoor Range actively participated in the cleaning Drive. About 180 garbage bags of plastic bottles, wrappers and other non biodegradable substances were collected from the fringe areas of the National Park and later dumped in the Dumping site. The Deputy Conservator of Forests, (WL) Shri Shajan Paul, IFS in his address appealed the villagers to actively participate in the cleaning drive and requested not to throw the garbage’s into sea.
