Port Blair, June 02: The Port Blair Municipal Council has recently formed special teams for collecting the pending dues, various taxes etc. from each and every shops in the city.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Secretary PBMC, Mr Udit Prakash Rai said that PBMC is a dependent body and generate its own resources through Octroi, Shop rent, Water Tax and Property tax etc. He added that PBMC is already in a loss of 5-7 crores and therefore it is high time that the PBMC need to revive the revenue collection process.
“Notice will be given to the shop owners on the spot whether they want to pay the pending dues on the spot or at the office counter,” Mr Udit said.
“Even after that if any shop owner who don’t pay their dues on time then further action will be initiated against them, Mr Udit added.
