Port Blair, May 31: A total of 150 Myanmarese Nationals were released this afternoon from the ‘Open Distress Camp’ Prothrapur and were later repatriated to their country after completion of their sentence at Andaman.
This 150 Myanmarese Nationals belong to second batch. In first batch altogether 136 Myanmarese Nationals were sent on May 31.
As per reports, some of the members of Myanmar Embassy from Kolkata arrived here to complete the formalities with the Andaman Administration after which all 150 Myanmarese were released for Myanmar.
It is learnt that a special flight also arrived here from Myanmar to pick these people.
These people were kept in a camp at Prothrapur Jail since last few months after the completion of their sentence.
There are possibilities of repatriation of some more Myanmarese Nationals in coming days.
