Port Blair, May 16: On the tip of information received through reliable sources PS Aberdeen police team comprising SHO SI Stalin, ASI Rasheed, PC Manpal, PC Shekar, PC Hanifa, PC Horo, PC Sartaj, PC Rakesh, PC Imran, PC Milton, PC Tata Rao and HG Chiranjiv guided by Mr. Chinmoy Biswal, ASP(SA) and under the over all supervision of SP(D)SA Mr. S. B. S. Tyagi raided a gambling den at a abandoned quarter of APWD Department near South Point Circuit House on 15-05-2012 and arrested 12 persons namely Niaz Ali (30) , r/o South Point, Mohd. Hanif (48), r/o Machi Line, P. Subramanium (37), r/o South Point, C. T. Selvam (32), r/o Bathu Basti, D. Subramanium (37), r/o South Point, A. Murugeshan (37), r/o Pathar Gudda, M. Peddiraju (41), r/o Junglighat, Kishan Lall (38), r/o Calicut, N. K. Pandidurai (26), r/o Bathu Basti, B. Raja (31), r/o Bathu Basti, Abdul Zahid (31), r/o Round Basti and Rajeev Reddy (39), r/o South Point and seized Rs 31,185/- board money alongwith two coins and Rs 15,000/- from their personal search.
Whereas, in another raid on the same day at KMK Restaurant, School Line by the above police team alongwith with staff of Police Control Room HC Emmanual, HC Birsha, PC Tamila, PC Zeeshan, HG Bairagi, HG Raja arrested 13 persons namely Netaji (23), r/o Dolly Gunj, P.V. Rajesh (24), r/o New Pahargaon, Vijay Singh (28), r/o New Pahargaon, D. Kameswar Rao (28), r/o Dolly Gunj, Praveen Kumar (22), r/o Garacharma, Vikash Ram (31), r/o Dolly Gunj, Mohd. Mukhtar (27), r/o Old Pahargaon, Kannan (30), r/o Buniyadabad, Rahul Roy (24), r/o School Line, M. Ganeshan (22), r/o School Line, Sanjay Mondal (24), Dolly Gunj, A. Thillai Mohan (28), r/o Anarkali & Ravi Shanker (36), r/o Dolly Gunj and seized Rs 25850/- board money alongwith 52 Nos. playing cards and Rs 7,290/-from their personal search. They have been booked under appropriate section of A&N Gambling Regulation.
