Port Blair, May 16: The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) today said that MV Harshavardhana is well capable of fighting any kind of fire onboard, even during sailing. Talking to Andaman Sheekha a senior officer of SCI today said that the ship was under the Port Jurisdiction and hence port authority provided assistance to fight the fire.
“Today the vessel was supposed to get fitness certification but the incident happened. The accident was not so serious only some cables, some cabins on both the side and the cabin of Chief Officer suffered damages,” the senior SCI officer added.
