Billyground, Apr 27: In a shocking incident an 84 year old lady of Jaipur Village under Harinagar Panchayat has been attacked by a youth of the same village with machete. The incident left the old lady Maya Rani Chakroborty grievously injured.
According to details the attacker youth, Sandip Mridha, have been going through some psychological problems since last few days due to excessive drinking and reported consumption of other drugs.
It is learnt that today the attacker had gone inside the jungle area by his own following some panic episode.
This evening when the old lady Maya Rani Chakroborty was having evening tea, sitting with other family members, the attacker suddenly appeared from nowhere and attacked the lady, who sustained three fatal injuries at face, neck and hand.
The attacker reportedly escaped inside the jungle after the attack.
The old lady was immediately shifted to PHC Billyground from where she has now been referred to G B Pant Hospital. Meanwhile the police team have arrested the attacker from the Jungle and registered a case of attempt to murder. Further investigations are on.
