Port Blair, Apr 25: The 49th Annual General Meeting of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry held on Sunday the 24th April, 2016 at 6.00 PM at Hotel TSG Grand, Dollygunj. President, ACCI Shri Girish Arora welcomed all members, while Shri Krishna, General Secretary presented the Annual Report and Shri Ahmed Badat presented audited statement and budget for 2016-17. Thereafter an interaction session was held in which members expressed their views/suggestions and seek clarifications/deliberations.
In the second session the Chief Guest Shri Anindo Majumdar, Chief Secretary arrived. Shri Mohammed Jadwet, Past President, ACCI presented a Power Point Presentation about the activities of the Chamber and apprised him about the hindrances in ease of doing business and submitted a representation which includes the problems faced by the business community on various subjects and the resolution passed in the AGM. The Chief Secretary assured to look into the matter and all possible will be done in resolving the issues. Chief Guest in his address appreciated the efforts of the Chamber under CSR in renovating the toilets blocks of the Senior Secondary School, School Line and called upon every person to contribute towards ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan” the pogramme of the Prime Minister. He elucidated the necessity of the rainwater harvesting to overcome the water scarcity. He also underlined the need for installation of solar panel in all the hotels/resorts and all buildings to obtain self-sufficiency in electricity. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Shri G. Bhasker, Past President, ACCI.
