Port Blair, April 21: The Tourism Department will organize Beach Festival 2016 from April 22-24, 2016 at Corbyn’s Cove. Beach Festival is organized every year with the concept of popularizing the Beach activities in A & N Islands apart from providing sundown entertainment to the Islanders as well as to the visiting tourists. Stalls for delicious Food, Handicraft will be put up apart from fun games and adventure water sports activities on discounted rates. As a special attraction, this year Laser shows will be organized on all three days.
During the festival, Beach Sports competitions will be organized at Corbyn’s Cove to encourage more participation from general public and tourists. “Sand Sculpture” competition and Fisherman Dinghi race will be an added attraction during the festival. All the competition will be held between 3 pm to 8 pm. Accordingly, Adventure Water Sports activities will be conducted from 10 am to 6 pm and Beach Volleball for Men and Women will be held from 3 pm on April 22. The police band will perform from 5 pm to 6 pm. The Chief Secretary will formally inaugurate the festival at 6pm which will be followed by Laser Show. The Department of Art and Culture will present a cultural programme from 6.30 pm to 7.30, performance by Police entertainment team from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm and Live Musical Show by M/s Dream World Entertainment from 8.30 pm to 10 pm on April 22.
On April 23, Adventure Water Sports activities will be held from 10 am to 6 pm, beach volleyball and Tug of War for men and women and Sand Sculpture competition from 3 pm. Police band will perform from 5 pm to 6 pm and Laser show and cultural programme will be held from 6 pm to 7 pm. The Police Entertainment Team will perform from 7 pm to 8 pm and Ecstasea and Deepak Youth Club will present Live Musical Show from 8 pm to 10 pm. On April 24, Adventure Water Sports activities will be held from 10 am to 6 pm and finals of beach volleyball, Tug of War, Coconut tree climbing, Musical Chair, Fishermen Dinghy Race and Sand Sculpture contests will be held from 3 pm. Police band will perform from 5 pm to 6 pm and the valedictory function followed by Laser Show and cultural programme will be held from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. Friends Cultural Group and BRW Entertainment will present Live Musical Show from 7.30 pm to 10 pm.
