Port Blair, Mar 30: The South Andaman District Police Team in its constant drive against gambling has arrested 05 persons namely (1) Tapan Haldar, (38) yrs, Pvt. Labour, R/o School Line, Ranchi Basti, (2) Raj Bahadur, (33) yrs, Auto Driver, R/o New Pahargaon, (3) Manickam, (24) Pvt. worker, R/o School Line Jawahar Colony, (4) Vinod Kumar, (30) yrs, Pvt. worker, R/o School Line, Ranchi Basti and (5) K. Kameshwar Rao, (30) yrs, DRM PBMC Sweeper, R/o School Line, Jawahar Colony on 16/3/2016 from Ranchi Basthi Jawahar Colony, School Line from whom cash Rs. 12,220/- including board money Rs. 5,000/- were recovered.
Similarly, in an earlier raid conducted on 14-03-16 by the said team at Junglighat Fish Market, 12 persons namely (1) R. Sekar (40) yrs DRM PBMC R/o Buniyadabad, (2) Krishna Rao, (34) yrs Pvt. Painter, R/o Junglighat, (3) S.Kanippaiah, (53) yrs, sweeper GB Pant Hospital, R/o Nayagaon. (4) S. Udayan (37) yrs R/o Haddo Lillipur Basti, (5) G. Sanaiah, (35) yrs, Regular Mazdoor PBMC, R/o Dairy Farm, (6) Musanaf Ahmed (42) yrs, R/o Junglighat, (7) Prakesh Sarkar, (35)yrs, R/o Prem Nagar (8) V. Kannan (39) yrs R/o Delanipur, (9) M. Shanmugam, (33) yrs, R/o Garacharma, (10) V. Mani Kandan (46) yrs R/o Anarkali Basti, (11) Srinivasan, (27) yrs R/o Dairy Farm and (12) Pran Krishan Das, (33) yrs, Peon, Forest Dept. R/o Haddo were arrested and cash Rs 6,700/- including board money Rs. 4000/- were recovered from them.
On this two challans vide No. 10/16 and 09/2016 U/s 5/7 A & N Gambling Reg. 1951 were made against them at PS Aberdeen.
