PORT BLAIR: The General Secretary, Humfryfunj Martyrs Memorial Committee through his letter and reminder addressed to the Prime Minister of India had demanded for the settlement of World War-II claims of war victims of Japanese compensation for the loss of lives and destruction of properties during Japanese occupation of A & N Islands during W.W-II granted by the Govt. of Japan for violation of Geneva convention under Un Laws and referring the Treaty of Peace and Agreement between India and Japan.
The Under Secretary to GOI, Ministry of Home Affairs has forwarded a representation received from Mr Vishal Jolly, State President, BJP and Mr Ravi Shanker Pandey, General Secretary, HMMC, Port Blair regarding claim of war victims of Japanese Compensation.
The grant/claim of Japanese Compensation is relating to loss or damage to the property or for personal injury or death of war victims and their descendants of A & N Islands during Japanese occupation in these Islands during Second World War.
All the World War-II victims and their descendants/claimant under the South Andaman District have been informed to give their details to the concerned area Tehsildar of their jurisdiction for grant of Japanese Compensation for the loss of lives and destruction of properties during Japanese occupation of A & N Islands.
