Port Blair, Mar 29: While the police department is busy in spreading awareness regarding cyber crimes, it seems that more and more people are becoming victim of such cyber crimes in Andamans. Now it has been learnt that two defence persons have been cheated by cyber criminals.
As per reports these Defence persons had received SMSes regarding some lucrative loan offers and when they approached the SMS senders, the cyber criminals reportedly took nearly 1000 from each one of them as processing fees. The money was deposited in some unknown account. Later when both the defence persons realized that this could be a bigger trap they registered a case in PS Chatham. Further details are awaited.
