Port Blair, Mar 22: Health awareness programme on “World TB Day” was organised on 22.03.2016 at Primary Health Centre, Manglutan in a befitting manner. Shri K. Thiyag Rajan, Health Educator welcomed the gathering. Dr. Varun Parekh, Medical Officer In-charge explained in detail regarding the theme and the cause, sign & symptoms of the disease. Smt Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad South Andaman was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad South Andaman said that smoking is a risk factor of TB. Smt Sahaya Mary, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Humfrygunj was the guest of honour on the occasion. The programme was attended by PRI members, Anganwadi workers, Para-medical staff, and members of public.
