Port Blair, Mar 18: A meeting of State Level Coordination Committee on Crop Insurance (SLCCCI) under the chairmanship of Secretary (Agri), was held In the conference hall of Secretariat on Friday for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) from Kharif 2016. The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary (Finance),A&N Administration, Chief Regional Manager and Asst. Manager of Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd, Chennai, General Manager, State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Port Blair, Representatives of National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD), Bajaj Allianz Company, Port Blair, National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO), Port Blair, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Farmers representative and other concerned Officers/Official of the Directorate of Agriculture.
During the meeting, various issues on the agenda points were discussed and decision on Area & Crop notifications, fixation of farmers premium rate and sum insured, calling of financial bid for appointing implementing agency, publicity and awareness, and fixing of indemnity level etc were unanimously taken by the committee for effective implementation of the scheme according to its operational guidelines issued by the Govt. of India. Dr G S Pandey, Member Secretary, SLCCCI (Director of Agriculture) proposed the vote of thanks.
