Port Blair, Mar 17: In reply to the un-starred Question No.2962 raised by Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament A & N Islands, in the Lok Sabha which to be answered on 15/03/2016 in regard to reinstatement of compensatory pay with arrear payment to the fire service personnel of A & N Police Fire Service at par with the Police Personnel of A & N Police department and also at par with Fire Service personnel of Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, J& K etc., Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed the Parliament that “A reference was received from the people’s representative of Andaman & Nicobar Islands requesting for reinstatement of compensatory pay to the fire service personnel of A & N Administration. The proposal was examined in the Ministry and was referred to the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) which was however not agreed to. The matter has again been referred to the Department of expenditure for reconsideration of the direction of Hon’ble CAT, Kolkata Bench.”
