Port Blair, Jan.27: The Republic Day on 26th January, 2016 was celebrated in the District Prison, Prothrapur in a befitting manner, Smt Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, Inspector General (Prisons) and Ex- Officio Secretary (Prison), Andaman & Nicobar Administration Unfurled the National Flag in front of the Jail Office Main Gate at 6.45 AM on 26/1/2016. The CRPF Personnel, Police Personnel, Medical Staff, Guarding Staff/ Jail Staff, Office Staff and family members of the staff attended the function and sweets were distributed.
On the occasion of Republic Day, 2016. The Inspector General (Prison) announced State remission to 46 Prisoners for their good conduct, awarded by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
