Port Blair, Jan 22: The Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, will organize a five kilometer ‘Patriotic Run’ (Mini Marathon) in all major cities of India. Accordingly, the Headquarters Coast Guard Regional (A&N) will organize the event at Port Blair. The ‘Patriotic Run’ will be flagged off by Vice Admiral PK Chatterjee, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Commander-in-Chief (CINCAN) Andaman & Nicobar Command from the historic cellular at 6 am on Jan 24, 2016. The local populace, govt. and civil organization, college and school students, NCC cadets, NGO’S in large gathering have enrolled for the run. The route for the run will be Cellular Jail, Netaji Stadium, Marine Drive, JNRM College, Windies Pt, Jurassic Park, Hornbill Nest Resort and will culminate at Carbyn’s Cove. Parking for the participants has been arranged near Swimming Pool area near Marina Park. Transport has been organized for the participants from parking area to the start point and also after completion of the event from corbyn’s cove to the parking area near swimming pool.
