Port Blair, Jan 22: The Block Congress Committee Campbell Bay organized one day Dharna on 18/1/2016 at Campbell Bay Bazaar under the leadership of Shri D. Jayaraman, President, Nicobar District to press early settlement of certain genuine and burning problems of the people of Campbell Bay such as regular inter island boat service and uninterrupted service of M.V. Campbell Bay to southern group of Islands for the benefit of the people of Southern group of islands particularly the residents of Campbell Bay, improvement of medical facilities and immediate posting of Sonography Technician in PHC, Campbell Bay, issue of tickets / seats to for the passengers of Campbell Bay for their to and fro journey in the Pawan Hanse Helicopter scheduled for Campbell Bay, by not reserving seats/tickets for passengers of other islands, till regular ship/boat service between Port Blair and Campbell Bay is resumed, Issue of permit for collection of sea sand locally for developmental works and construction of residential buildings, introduction of BSNL Broad Band service and improvement of BSNL service, Berthing of Chennai bond ships at Campbell Bay once in a month.
The meeting was also attended by senior congress leaders viz. S/Shri K. Raja, R. Navneethan, Dharma, Gagen Singh,ZP Member Ravindran, Silvabalan, Silvester Bhengra and the general public in large.
