Port Blair, January 19: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has arrested the Kingpin of the Little Andaman Ganja case, Mr Prabakar Mallick from Nadiya District, West Bengal on 13/01/2016. It is learnt.
As per reports, PS Hut Bay police team earlier on 6th June 2015 seized five kilograms of ganja and arrested the peddler from Rabindra Nagar, Little Andaman.
During the Investigation it was revealed that accused Makhan Sarkar used to source the ganja from mainland West Bengal camouflaged through postal service.
Therefore, the Andaman & Nicobar Police had constituted a police team and sent them to Kolkata to apprehend the supplier of ganja and bring him to Port Blair.
Acting upon which Investigation Officer, Inspector Vishal Ram, Head Constable, Ashwini Kumar Singh and Constable Kamlesh Yadav reached Kolkata and started the investigation as a result the kingpin of Little Andaman Ganja Case accused Prabhakar Mallick was arrested.
Andaman Sheekha learnt that Prabhakar Mallick was brought to Port Blair on 17.01.2016 by flight and has been sent for 14 days judicial remand.
It is also learnt that Prabhakar Mallick was previously involved in many other cases of NDPS act and was also arrested by the A&N Police in the year 2012-2013.
