Port Blair, May 03: In order to give due recognition to the achievements made by the persons in the field of adventure, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GoI had instituted National Adventure Award entitled “Tanzing Norgay National Adventure Awards”. The Award will consist of: (a) A bronze statuette; (b) A Certificate; (c) A blazer with a silken tie/a saree; (d) A cash award of Rs 5,00,000/- or the same amount as for Arjuna Award conferred in the field of Sports by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
As per the scheme ordinarily not more than one award each is conferred for adventure activities on land, sea and air.
The last-date of submitting nominations to GoI, Ministry of YAS is 15.05.2012. The detail information in this regard can be collected from Netaji Stadium, Port Blair during office hours.
