Port Blair, Dec 17: The Up-Adhyaksh, South Andaman ZIlla Parishad, Mr Subir Chander, ZP Member, Campbell Bay, Mr Gagandeep Singh Grewal and Panchayat Samity Member, Campbell Bay, Mr D Jayaraman met the Chief Secretary, Mr Anand Prakash on Wednesday and highlighted various issues troubling the residents of the Great Nicobar Islands. Among others, the delegation highlighted shortage of ships from Port Blair to Campbell Bay, shortage of teachers, education staff and non-availability of chemicals for Laboratories at GSSS Campbell Bay. The Chief Secretary is stated to have assured to consider commencement of charter vessel like MF Samsun for Great Nicobar and chartered flight of 70-seater capacity for Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar. The delegation, later, met the Principal Secretary, Education and highlighted related issues of Campbell Bay.
