Port Blair, Dec 15: The South Andaman District Administration has refuted a news published by a local daily this morning. In a clarification the ADM of South Andaman added that the article published by the newspaper in the shape and style of “Tehsildar supervising the work of real estate tycoon” is baseless, being false allegation.
The ADM added that infact, some residents namely Mr. Kundan Lall & Ors who are recorded tenants of Dollygunj village met the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman during public hearing and expressed their difficulties being faced by them for the past 06 (Six) years as they are not having any approach to their residence. After given patient hearing the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman directed Tehsildar, Port Blair to inspect land and take necessary action as per law.
“The Tehsildar, Port Blair along with revenue field functionaries viz. Patwari, Revenue Inspector, area Councillor and affected residents of Dollygunj village inspected the spot. It was found out that the grievance of the residents was genuine as the approach road shown by them was set-apart road. Accordingly, after a week all residents again approached Tehsildar, Port Blair to inspect the set apart road for avoiding any damage to nearby lands while removing earth and making approach to the residents and also to avoid any scuffle or untoward incident,” the ADM added.
The ADM mentioned that after the fixation of day i.e. 13th December 2015, which shall be convenient to all the residents, it was decided to start the work. The residents themselves removed the bare minimum earth required for making approach to their residential area. Accordingly, the work carried out on Sunday and completed on the same day itself.
“The news item appeared under the caption that “Tehsildar supervising work of Real Estate Tycoon of Sunday raises Eyebrow” is hereby refuted and it is further requested with all media persons to verify the factual position of any matter before publishing the news item. Publishing of such news item without verification of facts in media is inappropriate and demoralizes the integrity of honest government servants,” the ADM mentioned.
