Port Blair, Dec 15:Andaman and Nicobar Command had organised various activities as part of the recently concluded Navy week celebrations. A cleanliness Campaign was conducted at Cinque Island by the ships of the Naval Component under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command on 09 Dec 15. Indian Naval Ships LCU 36 and Baratang were tasked specifically to restore the beauty of pristine beaches of Cinque Island. These ships anchored off Minto Bay in close proximity of the beaches and thereafter personnel were transferred onto the beach using the ships boat. Officers and men of the ships carried out extensive cleaning of the beach and its surrounding areas. Apart from the Navy Week, the Indian Navy has been carrying out such activities on numerous other occasions at various locations to emphasise the need for a clean and healthy environment.
