Port Blair, Dec 6: The Annual Home Guard Day was celebrated with vigour and enthusiasm on Sunday at the Parade Ground, Police Lines. The Director General of Police, Mr Rajesh Malik took the salute of the ceremonial parade present by four platoons of the Home Guards including one platoon of Lady Home Guards.
In his address, the DGP lauded the Home Guard personnel for performing their duties with sincerity and dedication and congratulated them for the devotion demonstrated during deployment in far flung and isolated islands. Senior officials of the Andaman and Nicobar Police and Home Guards were also present on the occasion.
