Port Blair, Nov 30: Unnati organized an awareness education programme at Bindraban at 10:30 AM on 29-11-2015 in association with NABARD, Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Agriculture and Bindraban Gram Panchayat to popularize self employment scheme of NABARD Dairy farming, floriculture, Inland Fishing and Rural Development schemes for the benefit of unemployed youths and members of Self Help Group in the Unnati adopted villages of Bindraban Gram Panchayat. The meeting was presided over by Shri. Hemant Songadkar, General Manager NABARD. The meeting was attended in large number by unemployed youths, members of SHG and SHG union promoted by Unnati, office bearers of Unnati and officials.
Shri. Shyamal Jaidhar, Pradhan Bindraban Gram Panchayat welcomed the participants especially NABARD and Unnati for organizing awareness education programme on various self-employment schemes for the benefits of unemployed youths. Unnati already adopted Bindraban Gram Panchayat and is associating and co-coordinating for implementing various development and welfare programmes in Brindaban Gram Panchayat. He suggested that unemployment can be solved to a great extent if we popularize Dairy farming, floriculture and Inland Fishing by ensuring required support including financial, technical etc. He also pointed out that marketing of products to be ensured for the success of any production activities. He assured his full support for implementation of various schemes including assistance for recovery of loan.
Shri. Abdul Basheer, Member Zilla Parishad appreciated the efforts and initiative of Unnati and NABARD for organizing the function on holiday for motivating unemployed youths and members of Self Help Groups for adopting self employment ventures. He advised the participants to choose suitable economic activities in which they are interested for arranging support to them by concerned agencies or line departments. He said there is scope for Dairy Farming particularly when there is no problem for marketing of milk.
Shri. C.Mohammed, President Unnati informed that Unnati adopted Bindraban Gram Panchayat for co-coordinating and implementation of development and welfare schemes of various departments and agencies in Bindraban Gram Pahchayat. He said after interaction with unemployed youths, SHG and SHG Union promoted by Unnati we found that most of the villages are interested in Dairy Farming, Inland Fishing and floriculture which can be easily popularized after establishing suitable forward and backward linkages.
