Port Blair, Nov 26: On learning that the “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan” teachers were not paid salaries, the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands directed the Principal Secretary (Education) to work out relief to Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan teachers from the Union Territory Administration budget pending sanction by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Accordingly, the Education Department is releasing salary for two months i.e. September & October. Matter has followed up in Ministry of HRD for expediting release of SSA funds, a release issued by Mr. Raajiv Yaduvanshi, IAS, Principal Secretary (Edn.), Andaman & Nicobar Administration said here today.
