Diglipur, November 23: A Presentation of Disaster Scenario of State level Mock Exercise 2015 for PRI’s and HOD’s was held on 21.11.2015 at 11am in the Conference Hall of Administrative building at Diglipur.
During the presentation various aspects of the Disaster were discussed including Objectives and Programme, Nature of Exercise, Scenario for the Exercises, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Roles & Responsibilities of the PRIs and HODs in case of any disaster.
The primary objective of this scenario is to inculcate the spirit of disaster preparedness and to improve our emergency response. Mock exercise not only emphasize testing of communications from warning centre to its stakeholders, but also to provided an opportunity for testing local chains of command and decision-making, including the alerting and evacuation of people from selected coastal communities.
It also provided an opportunity to test, improve upon/approach emergency response plans and tsunami preparedness.
A power point presentation was held by the authorizes in this regard. During this meeting, Pramukh, Tehsildar, BDO, AE APWD, Asst Director (Agri) SHO’s of PS Diglipur and Kalighat, all HOD’s, newly elected PRIs including ZP members, Samiti members, Pradhans participated in the programme.
