Port Blair, Nov 20: Several candidates who have applied for the post of GDMO (Homoeo) under Andaman and Nicobar Union Territory Health Mission, have cried foul over short-listing of only five candidates for the interview, when more than 50 candidates are qualified to face the interview on 21st November 2015.
According to the Homoeo Doctors as per the recruitment notice the Essential Education Qualification for the said post is ‘A degree in Homoeopathy of Recognized University’ which nearly 50 candidates possess.
“But to the utter dismay of all the candidates, names of only five candidates were short-listed for the interview. When we approached the authorities for clarification we were told that the names were finalized because these five candidates have Masters’ Degree,” said a candidate.
Others allege that when the essential qualification is a degree in Homoeopathy of Recognized University, then technically all candidates with a degree are qualified and atleast for interview they should also be called.
“We are practicing Doctors with five to eight years of experience and a candidate with Master’s Degree will have only 3 years of experience. This is not justified. We smell that something is fishy in this regard. Why can’t the Administration conduct a test to select the best?” said a candidate, who does not want his name to be quoted.
