Port Blair, Nov 12: The Secretary (Coop)-cum-Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Smt R Menaka chaired a joint meeting of the Cooperative Department and the A & N State Cooperative Union to chalk out programmes for the celebration of the 62nd All India Cooperative Week 2015. Representatives from various Apex Central and primary cooperative societies and officials of the Cooperative Department attended the meeting held on Thursday.
Smt Menaka asked the members present in the meeting to give wide publicity of the programmes so that co-operators and others can attend the events and avail benefits. The Chairman, A & N State Cooperative Union, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma elaborated about the week-long programmes to be organized as per the guidelines of the NCUI, New Delhi. Various programmes will be organized during the celebration on the theme ‘Make In India through Cooperatives’. Accordingly, a programme on Skill Development and Employment will be held on Nov 14 from 11 am at Panchayat Bhawan, Sippighat, Enabling Legislation for Cooperatives on Nov 15 from 9.30 am at Nanma Hall, near Airtel Office, Shadipur, Role of Cooperatives in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan from 10.30 am on Nov 16 at Panchayat Bhawan, Subhashgram, Diglipur, Strenghtening Cooperation among Cooperatives on Nov 17 from 10.30 am at Cooperative Union Building, Teylerabad, Cooperative Marketing, Processing and Value Addition on Nov 18 from 11 am at Hut Bay, Mitigating Calamity through Cooperatives on Nov 19 from 11 am at Copra Plant, Macca Pahad, South Andaman and Financial Inclusion and Cooperatives on Nov 20 from 10.30 am at Car Nicobar.
