Port Blair, Nov 9:The Municipal Council has cautioned pig rearers to refrain from allowing their livestock to stray on the city roads, Complaints are being received that stray pigs are becoming a public nuisance and causing inconvenience to the free movement of vehicles on roads. PBMC has time and again informed the pig rearing people through local media and other medium that they should shift their pigs to Brookshabad pig rearing sheds. However, the instructions are not being followed and pigs are allowed to wander around, the Secretary of the Council said in a release.
All persons who are rearing pigs in the municipal area have been again asked to shift their pigs from the municipal area to the pig rearing sheds at Brookshabad within two days, failing which, the Municipal Council will be forced to capture all stray pigs and shift them to Brookshabad pig rearing sheds or to some far off places or may dispose of the pigs by a public auction. The Council will not be liable for any loss or damage caused during the course of capturing and transporting them, the Secretary added.
