Port Blair, Nov 2: House to house enumeration under the work of National Population Register (NPR) and seeding the database with Aadhaar Number has commenced from 1st November, 2015 and will continue upto 30th November, 2015 under Citizen Act, 1955.
A total number of 59 Enumerators for all 117 Enumeration Blocks (EBS) under Diglipur Sub – Division has been appointed. The training to the Enumerators have been imparted by the Resource Person from Census Department at Conference Hall of Administrative Building, Diglipur on 31st October, 2015. Apart from the Enumerators all revenue field functionaries also participated in the training. The Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur and the Tehsildar, Diglipur were also present in the training programme.
The enumeration of residents started on 1st November, 2015 and in the first phase the house of Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur and Tehsildar, Diglipur covered under the enumeration. During the door to door survey Shri Dilip Kumar and Niranjan Malakar, Nodal officers from Census Department for North & Middle Andaman were also present.
